ON FASHION

I love fashion, so please don't take me wrong. I just absolutely hate working in this industry.

The fashion industry is today one of the industries that employs the largest number or Angelinos.  If you live in SoCal you'll know at least a couple people who like myself work in this industry, and many more who can't wait to get in.

Trust me, I can't wait to get out, and there are a million reasons why you should change your career target this very moment.

Most of my family is in one way or another related to the fashion biz.  My sister is a designer.  Her husband is a sales rep.  My stepfather is a consultant for the industry.  My brother-in-law's father has his own clothing company, his cousins own their our premium denim label.  My mother is an avid consumer. And I am a frustrated, overworked member of the accounting and financing teams who run all the not-so-glamourous backstage of this industry which is by all regarded as fun, sparkly, appealing and ohhhhh so desirable.

Here is what I love about this industry...... the free product and hook ups.

Here is what makes me want to quit:
1.  The fashion industry attracts he largest number of assholes and precious divas
2.  This industry is filled with egomaniac bastards
3.  The Fashion business attracts the the most unprofessional crowds.
4.  This industry is filled with trust fund babies who do not have one drop of entrepreneurial blood on their veins.
5.  The salaries are usually lower than salaries paid for equivalent positions in other industries (employers believe that anyone will work for free in exchange for a business card with the name of the company on it)

Will I get out?? Most likely not! I just love to hate it.
Unfortunately I am a fashion industry junky.

Why are we all addicted to what may kill us?
